Colucci & Company
Proprietor & Jewelry Artist, Melissa Colucci
117 North Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA
Melissa Colucci's artistic development in jewelry began by studying with a Master-Goldsmith; learning the "Lost Wax Casting Process," an ancient process first used by the Egyptians to create jewelry, tools and sculptures. This way of design affords many artist the ability to express their design/visions in wax models first. Melissa loves to fabricate rings, pendants and slides from metal sheet, tube and wire. She accentuates her simple silver settings (bezel settings) with hand-selected, often custom cut, stones that are unique for their visual qualities. Fossilized dinosaur bone, African Red Pietersite, unique American Jaspers, Norweigan Blue Moonstone and American Turquoise are just a few favorites. Colucci regularly creates one-of-a-kind and custom pieces that are, as she describes, "distinctive, fun, and made to be worn and enjoyed everyday!"
Melissa is a born entrepreneur and loves the work that she does! Her goal as an artist is to create jewelry, not on a mass scale, but on a more personal and artistic level. She loves that her shop is located in Carlisle, which she has found to be an inviting and interesting area. Interested in seeing how jewelry is made? Melissa can be found at work at Colucci & Company in Carlisle which is her "home base" for jewelry displays as well as a wonderfully eclectic mix of American made arts and crafts that Melissa selects from across the region and the country.
