Jody Sheffer – Prairie House Yarn & Fibers
Jody Sheffer has been dyeing and spinning yarn for over 30 years, and for the last 25 raising angora goats, rabbits, sheep, and alpacas, for the love of the animals, AND their fiber. "It is just amazing all the different types of yarns that can be created by either blending or dyeing a variety of animal fibers together. It is one of the most rewarding 'hobbies' that I have. The transformation from a fleece, to a beautiful yarn, and finally a knitted garment is truly amazing."
Sheffer's yarns, fibers and roving were once offered through trade shows such as Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival, Rhinebeck Sheep & Wool Festival, New Jersey Sheep & Wool Festival, and Knitters Day Out.
Presently, this passion has turned into a full time job and Jody's beautiful hand-spun/hand-dyed yarns and fibers are offered through the Prairie House website.
Sheffer also holds “First Friday Club” every month for knitting, spinning, crocheting enthusiasts to learn and share current projects. RSVP required...visit our 'Events page' for more details.
"I hope you enjoy my yarns and fibers as much as I enjoy creating them."
