History of Transportation, Milton PA

The Improved Milton Experience, TIME, is a community-based, non-profit corporation and oversees Milton’s “Main Street Program.” TIME envisions a community that is clean, safe, historically significant, and architecturally interesting, involving as many age groups, clubs, and organizations as possible to accomplish.

One major goal of TIME is to place 10 outdoor Murals depicting the history of Milton throughout the downtown business district. Three have been completed as of 2011. Primary objectives include:

- To use the visual medium of Murals to create an opportunity for residents and visitors to “step into history”
- To attract an expanded audience to other downtown attractions.
- To encourage local artists and other community members to participate in an artistic project.
- To educate a local and broader audience about the history of Milton.
- To demonstrate the viability of artistic expression as a source of community pride, a form of community service, a recreational activity, and a career.
